This year’s 2nd Edition of the Festival is organised jointly with the Mediterranean Conference Centre and takes place at several beautiful concert halls in the city of Valletta and feature performances by the most promising pianists who clearly have the potential for achieving successful lifelong careers.
The organization’s goal is to provide the artists with world-class performance venues,
allow them free interpretive expression, and give them exposure to new audiences.
Malta International Piano Competition makes part of the big series of 11 international piano competitions where 5 best participants of each competition will have a free participation in the Malta International Piano Competition 2018 in the framework of the “Malta International Music Festival 2018” which is dedicated to Valletta 2018, when the capital of Malta will become European Capital of Culture 2018!
The artists are invited to the Festival from every corner of the world with many making their Malta debuts.
The mission of European Foundation for Support of Culture through the presentation of the Malta International Piano Festival is to discover, promote, support and document the great masters of the keyboard emerging in this generation; to rediscover unusual repertoire while providing audiences
with a unique musical experience; to build the audiences of the future to help insure the very existence
of classical music.
We are constantly searching for the most gifted musicians of the new generation,
those few who are able to use technical virtuosity to speak with an original and compelling voice.
With so many artistic achievements to its credit, European Foundation for Support of Culture
views the continued success of its classical music projects in the future.
With best regards and respect,
Mr. Konstantin Ishkhanov,
President of EUFSC.
In recent years the Maltese islands have witnessed
a notable increase in cultural events that have also contributed to enhancing our international tourism profile. This was possible given we have invested thouroughly in order to attract prestigious events also during the winter months. Such activities have contributed to eradicating local tourism seasonality
and attract more tourists in the winter months.
Local venues, including the prestigious Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC), are actively contributing
at further elevating Malta’s already rich cultural calendar.
An outstanding cultural event is the Malta International Piano Festival, that will be hosted by the MCC,
and will involve the partcipation of local and foreign artists and musicians besides internationally acclaimed jury members. We are very pleased that we will be hosting this event and we are confident that it will be
a success and a rich addition to the events calendar.
